QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Minimum Master's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university
- Must Possess a Current New Mexico Public Education Department Administrator's License
- Experience as a School Administrator
- Adeptness at Verbal & Written Communications
- Excellent Public Relations Skills
- Demonstrate a High Degree of Staff Relations Expertise
- Abililty to Perform Essential Job Task Functions & Requirements

Leadership & Governance:
- Demonstrates leadership style that is collaborative and visionary in all aspects of grades PreK- 12 grades
- Dedication to develop strategic plans to improve effective and efficient operations for all stakeholders
- Commitment to an educational philosophy and mission in order to achieve excellence in academics, while providing a safe and respectful environmnet for all stakeholders
- Dedication to continued professional development for the faculty and staff
- Proven record of organizing effective partnerships with the educational environment, state organizations, government agencies, and the community
Instruction and Student Services
- Demonstrates an understanding and enthusiasm of quality instructional programs to create a student-focused learning environment
- Understanding of the technological services in correlation with the delivery of education
- Demonstrates support and consideration for diversity programs with the understanding of student services and the correlation of contributing to success
- Experience in the deployment of educational achievement initiatives
Planning, Facilities, & Finance
- Demonstrates proficiency in meeting the challenges to plan, guide, and manage the developmental changes in an educational environment
- Visionary leadership in the development and implementation of a strategic master plan
- Proficiency in budgeting and ability to effectively advocate for local, state, and federal funding
Personal Characteristics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Success in fostering and developing a climate that values and respects diversity
- Proven ability in team-building and promoting an interrelated environment to enhance a partnership for the success of students, staff, and the community
Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Board of Education for the Artesia Public Schools District
- Administers local Board of Education policies, state laws, and federal regulations
- Responsible for the overall administration and educational leadership of the school district
- Accountable for the staff hiring and management, student achievement, school district business, budget management, expenditures of funds, dissemination of information, and District communication
