Job Description:  Secondary Woodworking Teacher

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university OR combination of education/experience to qualify for a New Mexico Public Education Department Vocational-Technical License.  Current New Mexico Public Education Department 6-12, 5-9, or PK-12 Specialty Area license depending upon grade level(s) being taught with proper endorsement(s) on license for subject area(s) being taught also qualifies for consideration.

 

Position Summary

The Woodworking / Industrial Arts Teacher provides instruction in woodworking, carpentry, and construction fundamentals within a Career & Technical Education (CTE) program. The teacher delivers standards-based instruction aligned with the New Mexico Public Education Department and district curriculum, promotes safe operation of tools and machinery, and prepares students for postsecondary education, apprenticeships, and careers in the skilled trades.
